Re: the ongoing Canada Post Strike - We also offer shipping with UPS, Fedex, Purolator, and Canpar.
If you are a Canadian who lives somewhere only Canada Post services, or have a PO Box, try using a different/non PO Box address to see our other carriers' rates!
PS: We have left Canada Post up as shipping option. If you choose Canada Post, we will ship your order once the strike is over.
By popular demand, we now carry Waxed Canvas! This eco-friendly waterproof canvas is strong and durable, yet still breathable. The wax finish gives it a beautifully grungy, retro look as the canvas develops creases and wrinkles over time, much like a favorite old leather jacket. If you've ever owned one, then you know the more you use it, the more it beautifully ages with it’s own unique cracks and patina.
What is Waxed Canvas used for? All sorts of projects, like backpacks, purses, work aprons, jackets, vests, dog gear, saddle bags, tote bags, book bags, storage bags, all kinds of outdoor gear, and so much more.
Not a fan of the cracks or creases (known as “craze marks”) when you first receive your Waxed Canvas order? Don't worry, nothing is wrong with the canvas, it's just the wax. All you need is a blow dryer or iron, and all the marks will magically disappear. See below for care instructions.
------
Weight:13.5oz with wax finish (10oz base canvas + wax)
Width:58-60” (147-150cm)
Content:100% Cotton Canvas
Care:Never use warm or hot water on Waxed Canvas.Do not dry clean. Do not machine wash. Do not tumble dry. All of these will strip the wax finish. To clean, brush off dirt with a soft brush. If washing is needed, hand wash with cold water and use a cloth/soft brush. For stains, use a mild bar soap or flake soap sparingly. Do not use detergent as many will break down the wax.
You can clear up craze marks by using a heat blowing gun, hair dryer, or iron without steam at a low heat (using a protective paper layer between the fabric and the iron). See this Youtube tutorialfor more info.
Shipping: We always ship our fabric foldedso that they can fit in mailers/boxes to keep shipping costs as low as possible. However due to the nature of this product, Waxed Canvas will develop the above mentioned “craze marks” wherever the fabricwas folded and worn. Most people don’t mind as this adds to the rustic and worn patina that is part of the look of Waxed Canvas. If you want to remove these marks, see above for Care instructions.
However if requested, we can ship our 60" wide Waxed Canvas rolled but there will be an additional $20-30 cost since all shipping carriers charge oversize fees. Please leave a note in NOTES section of your order (or email us) to let us know if you want this fabric shipped rolled and we will contact you with the additional shipping cost.
