2025 was quite an odd year! We wanted to take a moment to clearly share where things stand, what’s happened behind the scenes, and what’s coming next for Overseas Fabrics.
The short version:
We have closed and sold our physical Abbotsford storefront, but we have not sold the business. Overseas Fabrics is still here, still family-owned, and very much on pause with intention as we rebuild, refresh, and plan our next chapter.
After more than 33 years in business, we’re taking a much-needed breather to regroup, modernize, and make thoughtful decisions, rather than rushing into the next thing. This pause gives us the space to adapt to changing times and come back better than ever.
What’s happening right now

Our online store is temporarily paused while we complete major upgrades.
It was built pre-pandemic and, quite frankly, it’s overdue for a serious refresh so it can serve you better long-term. -
We are actively planning a relaunch of our online store once the backend work is complete.

We will be looking for a new physical location, but only after our systems are fully back up and running. We want to take the time to find the right home, not just the fastest one.

September 2025: Inventory is moved out, shelves come down, and keys are handed over

November 2025: A mother-son trip to India, the first for G and the first in 15 years for Mom

January 2026: We realize this is the perfect moment to fully revamp and future-proof our online store
